Laurel McCloskey, a leader with experience in health policy, clinical research, non-profit communications, program development, and community advocacy, completed her Masters of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University in 2010. She served as the Executive Director of the Chronic Disease Prevention Council since 2013, working to promote wellness through advocacy, education, and partnerships. In this role, she has worked to develop successful partnership facilitation, champion media development, and increase community capacity to create social change. In addition, Laurel has worked as a consultant on numerous community development projects for over 10 years, including Complete Streets, the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids, and the Vienna Summer Music Festival. During this past two years, she assisted with the development of Colorado Patients Taking Action, a group of patients, healthcare providers and advocates working to ensure that individuals with rare diseases’ voices are prioritized in healthcare policy. In her free times she explores CO with her fiancée Ted and is an classical singer and a ski instructor.
